Old Turkic root “tar-” «taratu – to distribute, taralu – breeding, bolu- to dismiss, distribute» tar+qa+n> tarqan i.e. «the person having will and right», Old Mongol tar-//dar-> darqa, darqan, darqalaqu - «free, protected, obliged to be protected, in protection». And also it is connected with Mong. word targan> тарган «full, thick». Considering semantics of the word, it is found out that “tarhan” is «free and having right, protected» commander, a special supervising employee of political administration. |
