Baryk I (е-5)

VIII-IX AD

Names

Барык, I памятник Барык, Е 5

Location

One of 6 stones located on hillock on 11 km to the south from village Iji-tal at east coast of the river Baryk.

Stored in the Tyva museum in Kyzyl.

Specification

The monument belongs to epoch of ancient Turks.

The stele is made of red-brown sand stone. There are only 3 lines of epitaph on the monument. There is a half moon sign with a cross in the bottom of the stone.

Size

Height - 1,50 m, length - 0,44-0,65 m, width - 0,15 m.

Researches

The stele is found by D.A.Klements in 1891. I.A.Batmanov investigated again and transferred to the Tyva museum in 1961.
