I am Ten Si ('Son of Heaven', i.e. the Chinese Emperor). I enjoy sitting on the golden throne early (in the morning) and late (in the evening). Know thus: this is good.

The camel stallion with a golden nose peg is good. (He) went to his house. The third wife had just given birth to a son. They say: the bek is good! The bek, apparently, is great. This is extremely good.

(Thus) it brought him to his mother and father. His mother (and) his father rejoice (and) take pleasure, it says. Know thus: This is good.

A white-spotted cow was on the point of calving. She said: 'I am about to die!' (Nevertheless) she gave birth to a white-spotted bull calf. It would be suitable to dedicate it to Heaven. (For the cow was) thus saved from (her) fate, it says. Know thus: This is good.

Her favorite (lover) has died (and) her pail has frozen. Why should her favorite (lover) die? He has the status of a bek. Why should her pail freeze? It is placed in the sunshine. Know thus: at the beginning of this irk(omen) there is a little pain; (but) later it becomes good again.

In the Year of Tiger, on the fifteenth (day of) the second month, I, the young pious (disciple) staying at the Tay-gün-tan (Manichaeism) monastery, wrote this book of omens for our listener burua guru Isig Sengun Ïtačïq.
