 Nature, environment names

The Turkic inscription makes up the main lexical group referring to nature, environment names. They are the names of the land, water, river, lake, mountain, stone, plain and etc.

  1. The Black earth.

On Kultegin stele it has been carved “When the blue sky above and the brown earth below were created, between them a human being was created”.

  1. River-lake
  2. Water
The word “жер” is used together with “су”.
UT [ot]от
  1. Grass land.

  2. Fire.

In the picture the word “oт” (its symbol) is marked with red color (on “Irk bitig”). In the fragment it is written “seeing the fire, making a raid, drinking water”…
