[bökümedim] бөкмедім |
“could not stay, remain; böge - to detain”. This word is very often used in Yenisei inscriptions. Researchers translate it as “bökmedim - had not taken pleasure”, “bökü - to be sated”. We cannot agree that the people who have died in Turkic times were so “greedy, insatiable”, that had not taken pleasure in their wives and children. The memorial stones erected on behalf of died people. And the regret of those late people is written on the stones. They “could not remain” with their relatives. |
