М1, Е 78, the Coin with old-Turkic inscription

Location

The coin is found in Minusinsk pool.

Stored in Minusinsk museum. МКМА 9905-5.

Specification

The coin “Kay juang Tun-bao” belongs to Tan dynasty. Turks and Sogdians widely used this type of coins.

There is a quadrangular hole in the middle of the coin. There are four Chinese hieroglyphs on face, and Turkic words of 9 symbols on back side of the coin.

Size

Circle length of the coin – 2.5 centimeters.

The Turkic inscription is investigated by E.Droun 309, W.Radloff 310, H.N.Orkhun 311, E.R.Rygdylon 312, D.D.Vasilev 313, A.M.Sherbak 314, I.G.Dobrodomov 315, I.L.Kyzlasov 316.
